Currently you are in the market right now for a new pet or companion and that I why you have landed on this article. You prefer to have a dog rather than anything else, and many of your companions may have suggested that you get any one of cavachon puppies currently on sale in the market. This hybrid is fast growing in popularity and that it is the reason maybe why your friends have heard about it and suggested it to you. Do read on and finish this article for some information on this dog before you make your final commitment.

Mid-100s is when the genealogy of this dog begins, as this was when it was first created. It is basically a hybrid between two breeds which are the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Bichon Frise. The former is a sporting breed and the latter is a non sporting one. The result is the cavachon which have capture many a heart up to this day.

When talking of overall temperaments for this dog, one cannot really say or put a finger on it to give a general impression. You will not be getting a fifty fifty deal in terms of half of the temperament of the spaniel and half of the Bichon. You will actually get any combination in between, with one trait being more dominant than the other. Thus you may have a sporty fun loving and friendly dog, or you will get an aloof and proud one.

When these dogs mature, they will stand at a little over a foot in height and they can weigh between the areas of fifteen pounds to thirty pounds. Variations in weight will of course occur due to differences in diets. As it is a small and highly energetic dog, it is best that it be given special dog formulas specific and designed for its size and energy level.

Do not under estimate the need for exercise for this dog, especially if it is kept inside for the better part of the day. It is a very energetic dog and you should also have the energy to match it also. You should take it for a short walk or run every day for at least thirty minutes minimum, so as for it to release any pent up energy and such that it has acquired during the day.

The coat of this breed is somewhat hypoallergenic due to it having some genetic inheritance from the Bichon Frise. But then it also has the genetic make up of the spaniel as well, which does not have the hypoallergenic properties of the Bichon. It is always best to test for allergies first before taking on this breed, for not all are hypoallergenic.

The life expectancy for this breed is around the area of ten years to fifteen years, quite long for a dog of its size. The life expectancy can be extended somewhat also with a lot of love and care, as well as with the use of proper nutrition. It would not hurt to have it get a regular visit to the very as well.

In sum this article has shown you some things to mull about before committing to this breed. It may also be a good idea to read up on prices and training strategies for this specific breed so you can be better prepared for your final decision. It takes a lot of responsibility being a pet owner, so you should learn about it as much as possible.
