Satisfaction With All Natural Dog Treats

By Olive Pate

Sometimes purchasing treats over the counter for man's best friend can cause more harm than good. It was only a few years ago that some dog treats were recalled due to traces of a harmful antibiotics that were found in them. They basically caused more harm than good. However, all hope isn't lost. There are some all natural dog treats that pet owners who live in Wurtsboro, NY feel are great snack alternatives.

Many find it hard to believe that their pets really do like vegetable and fruits. On the contrary, every fruit isn't for every type of animal. For example, grapes aren't considered a good snack due to their toxicity. Also, snacks are only supposed to be 8-to-10 percent of an animal's diet. So, when animals do get a snack, it needs to be something that's healthy and nutritious.

One vegetable that has proven to be a pet favorite are carrots. Carrots are usually liked by everyone because they are crunchy and sweet. Carrots are great, especially when frozen. They help to keep teeth clean and pets cool during the hot summer months. If a dog isn't too fond of them, owners are then encouraged to grate them and add them to a meal. What they don't know will definitely not hurt them!

Another healthy treat for dogs are apples. If one a day keeps the doctor away for humans, one can imagine the wonderful things it can do for animals. Just be careful to purchase those that are organic in order to keep pets away from harmful pesticides. Remember, pets should be protected on all ends.

One vegetable that's really surprising that dogs like is kale. They seem to enjoy it whether it's uncooked or cooked. This used to be meal garnish contains compounds that fight against cancer. It helps in keeping pets and humans healthy alike!

There's a particular vegetable that just calls to dogs in a garden environment known as squash. Squash is such a treat for animals because they enjoy the texture and the natural sweetness that can be found in this vegetable. It is similar to that of a pumpkin. Pumpkins are great because they aid in digestion and helping those animals that suffer with constipation.

Green beans are great as well. They should be given in small quantities. If larger quantities are given, they should be grated or pulsated in a food processor in order to make them more digestible. Sliced cucumbers and zucchini are definitely vegetables that should not go unnoticed.

One definitely can't forget about the egg. Sure, it's been given a bad rep through the years for being high in cholesterol. However, they have a wonderfully balanced composition of nutrients, fats, and proteins. They also help in keeping pet coats shiny and beautiful.

Healthy snacks are great for pet owners that want their pets to be healthy and full of life. Just because a snack is natural, doesn't mean that it has to taste bad. Usually, if a human being likes the taste, pets may find them to be just as popular.
