Will The Antichrist Be A Muslim? An Insight

By Annabelle Holman

The false messiah has always been believed to hail from a European background. Discussions have been brought forth to suggest the fake messiah will hail from the Muslim community. Debates have been conducted vis-a-vis the coming of Antichrist across various sections of religious groups and platforms. The question that still raises a heated debate is, will the Antichrist be a Muslim?

The Shiite who are found in regions of Iraq, who are an Islamic community have always believed that after the death of prophet Muhammad, there were twelve prophets who came forth. The prophets are also referred to Imams from a Muslim perspective. The prophet, who was born around 868, was Imam Muhammad Al Mahdi who was number twelve among the twelve prophets. He entered into a cave while 12 years of age, due to the persecution. During the end times the prophet will emerge from the cave.

Some section of Christian topologists, they bring forth the argument that he will be Islam. They claim that that according to prophet Micah in the bible, his end time prophecy the Assyrian invaded the land of Israel referring to the Assyrian as the Antichrist. The argument further claims that according to the book of Revelation the false messiah is described as being Leopard like with the feet of a bear and the mouth of lion, where according to Daniel the Medo-Persian Empire is depicted as a Leopard.

Further discussions indicate that prophet Daniel foretells about a ram defeated by a goat, in his prophecy concerning empires. The goat was characteristic with a horn that was placed in between the eyes which denoted the Medo-Persian Empire. Scholars across the board are in agreement the horn referred to the Antiochus Epiphanes that was in power from the Alexander Empire. In Prophet Daniel foresights he states that the autocrat is the Antichrist.

But despite all these discussions, there are suggestions of Antichrist not being Islamic is and one of the positive relationships between Israel and the Anti-Christ. Prophet Daniel foretells the false messiah will confirm a peace agreement with Israel for seven years. They also argue that Daniel prophesies the reconstruction of a Temple by the Antichrist. Based on the hostility that has been existent between the Christians and the Islamic community the fake messiah can not be Muslim.

Some scholars further claim that he is not going to be a Muslim due to Geographic locality. According to the bible the anticipated Antichrist is going to emerge from the new Roman Empire, which will be in the countries where the former Roman Empire was located. Sections of Europe and some parts of Africa made part of the Roman Empire yet Europeans have led the Empire and not Muslims.

More indications points that the nation of Assyria referred in the book of Micah is not the Antichrist. The nation of Assyrian referred in the bible was Israels enemy at that time and God had promised the people of Israel to offer them protection from all kinds of enemies within the people of Israel and out of Israel.

The people of Assyrian are largely Christians reducing the association of the fake messiah being a Muslim. Vast populations of Assyrians are located in Syria, turkey and Iraq. In spite of most of these populations living in Islamic nations most are Christians. This is among the reason that reduces the arguments of the Antichrist emerging from Muslims.
