The Details In The Whole Old Covenant Vs New Covenant Ordeal

By Eloise Hewitt

The OT and the latest one may come from the same Bible but there are certainly a lot of differences between them. For starters, they do not contain the same words. They can mean the same thing but still they have very varied interpretations of the journey of God and Jesus.

If you are a Christian in the modern world, then you have two ways when it comes to staying connected with your God. You can say your personal prayers to a priest just like what the Christian believers in the OT did. You can also stay near the physical throne of the Creator based on the comments of NT users in several Old Covenant vs New Covenant online platforms.

Now, if you are someone who has memorized the Ten Commandments with all your heart, then you have most probably found them in the former part of the Bible together with the other 603 laws that your forefathers had to pay attention to in the past. These laws guided your ancestors to be more religious and to be humans with great civil and moral sense. As for the new testament, it just contained one rule and that is to love your God and your neighbor.

Major and minor ceremonies were also a common thing in the OT. Animals and fruits were often burned in the temples during those times. However, this practice was greatly reduced in the NT Following the path of Jesus is already seen as a sacrifice in that era.

As for the festivities in these two portions of the Bible, the Holy Sabbath was being highlighted in the former one while the Supper that Jesus had with his disciples was being honored in the latest testament. The rules on Sabbath Day are simple. You should not perform anything related to what you do for a living and you must not forget to hear mass during that day.

On the other hand, a holy place in the NT can pertain to people. It can be a group of individuals who share the same faith. Christians in the OT were more strict about the place were they worship their Lord. The venue can only be a temple or a tabernacle.

In the Old Testament, the High Priest can only be with God on the day of atonement while the latest one has Jesus as the High Priest. This only means that he can be with his Father forever. He is considered as the right hand of the Creator.

As for the followers of the Highest Priest, Aaron and his sons were in the OT while Christians followed the way of the highest spiritual figure in the NT. This is actually a form of blessing for them. Not everyone is privileged enough to follow the footsteps of the Lord.

In the present time, NT is definitely there. This part of the Bible is for eternity and that includes every living person on Earth. Forefathers have already played their part in the older portion of the Holy book.
