Recently a photo of Morgan Freeman surfaced on the Internet that someone was claiming was not actually a photo, but a sketch using a certain application on their iPad. They even had the video to prove it. The resemblance was uncanny and the detail made it look like a real photograph. This marked a change in the way people visualized web design. Here are some of the other affects this has had on web design.
Size Matters - In 2011, just five percent of the American population owned any kind of tablet. Today, just three years later, that number has increased drastically and the now heavy use of tablets is influencing the way businesses are designing their websites. Because tablets are touch screen, the bigger the better. If you plan on having anyone access your website and click on links on that website, you are going to want those links to be large and visually appealing. This focuses the attention of visitors to the site and attracts them more easily to what they are looking for.
The internship This can seem like a somewhat daunting thing. Internships are often unpaid and leave you with not doing the work that you thought you would. But! Still try and get one. Internships look great on a resume, and they can really help you get your foot in the door and help you on your way in your career. Often times, you will meet many people and will be much better off as far as networking. The internship can also give you a good sense of what a career might be like.
Adobe suite - If you are looking into a career in graphic design, then chances are, you know exactly what adobe suite is. But knowing what it is may not be enough. Some companies might offer some training to help you get started but many companies don't offer any training and expect you to already have experience using Adobe products. If you want to have an edge then you should master the Adobe products. There are training courses that you can take that will help you get acquainted with Adobe products. It might be a good idea to consider some of these training sessions. Not only can you use these for your own work or for building your portfolio but you these can also be a huge asset when you are applying for a job in the graphic design industry.
Looking at How Far You Have Come - The work that you put into changing your study environment to eliminate distraction has to come with some exceptions. You can't look at every element of your study environment as being a distraction, even if a lot of people see them that way. Some people are able to take things that people consider distractions as use them as a means to increase their concentration.
As tablet technology continues to progress, so will the web design component that goes with it. It is important to stay educated about all the ways that this has influenced web design as a whole in order to know what direction it may go in in the future.
