Assisting your child in Preschool in Long Island with their homework can be challenging. It makes it even more difficult when there is no desire on the part of the child. However, by helping children to study and showing that you are willing to help will instill good habits for the future. However, it is important to note that the public preschool program contains a curriculum, and students are expected to learn and apply what is taught much like a kindergarten or first grade student is. For this reason providing items other than papers and pencils maybe required depending on the needs and funding of the school your child attends.
Here are some items that maybe required for your child. Index cards can be a helpful item for preschool children for drawing and making flash cards. Binders with tab dividers can be a great way to keep organized by date or task included. Note books or composition books that are lined paper to help children learn how to write on the lines.
Elmer's glue and glue sticks which will help with art projects in the classroom. Flex rulers that can help your child learn how to make straight lines, and pencils that are used to write draw. Colored pencils that will be good for art projects, also washable water color paints. Crayons are also an item that is used a lot in the classroom, as well as markers. Workbook that is itemized by subject such as writing, numbers, etc... this will help to reinforce what is being taught to your child.
A preschooler will also need a plastic container or organizer to keep pencils, makers, and crayons in so they don't get lost. Also providing a backpack to keep the supplies in will help them to stay organized, and the teacher can put assignments and finished art projects in the bag. Including an extra pair of clothes is also good in case your child has an accident or spills something on their clothes.
